Tournament Team Changes for 2020

Based on parent/player feedback and the goal of continuous improvement, we have restructured the All-Star tournament team model. Parent/coach/player feedback was consistently around concerns that All-Star teams weren’t formed in time to allow for ample practice, that kids wanted a chance to play tournament ball without giving up too many summer weekends, and that the previous peer nomination format wasn’t fair/objective.

Based on that feedback, we will no longer offer an All-Star program; but rather, we will have two tournament teams at each level 9u thru 14u (if numbers & volunteer coach availability allows). The “Red” tournament teams are the competitive teams, and include the top ten players from the Fall Showcase of Skills plus two “coaches picks” that will be made after the spring open gym practices. The White tournament teams will be comprised of the top ten players from a Spring tryout that will take place in April, plus two coaches picks. The White team will still play on various league teams during the week. In addition, they will play in three B level tournaments (two away and one home) throughout the summer.

We are excited to offer this hybrid tournament option for players that will allow for earlier practice and a more streamlined process.

Outgoing Board Members

On behalf of the Pulaski Baseball Board of Directors and Pulaski Baseball families, we’d like to thank outgoing Board President, Nate Wotruba, Sponsorship Manager, Hannah Wesner, and Scheduler, Rich Simons for their tireless work and commitment to the program over the last several years.

Nate Wotruba joined the Board as President in 2015. His vision was to grow the program and improve the facilities; and as a result, we are now enjoying the benefits of his thousands of volunteer hours behind the scenes. He was the first guy at the fields and the last to leave - making sure our players had the opportunity to enjoy summer baseball and make memories that will last a lifetime. His leadership, vision, and commitment to the kids and families will certainly be missed. We have some big shoes to fill, and we wish Nate all the best!

Hannah Wesner served on the Board as Sponsorship Manager for two years and brought a contagious energy of “can-do” spirit to the Board and our program. Through her partnerships with local and national sponsors, we were able to forge partnerships that ensured the ongoing success of our program. Hannah is a busy mom of three, but gave many hours to help the 400+ kids of Pulaski Baseball have awesome summers at the field!

Rich Simons has been a part of Pulaski Baseball since 2013. He’s served in many capacities including scheduler, tournament director, and was an all around, “go-to” guy that would jump in and help wherever needed. He made sure nearly 50 teams had practice and game field times, he scheduled all our tournaments home and away, and was the pulse of Pulaski baseball for many years. His work was complicated, time consuming, and incredibly important - and he showed up year after year to do it. For his kids and yours.

Please join us in thanking Nate, Hannah, and Rich for all they’ve done!

Message from Coach Bogacz

Hello Baseball Families,

I’d like to take a moment to share with you my excitement on being elected the new President of the Pulaski Baseball Organization. I have been on the board the last 3 years and have seen some incredible things done for our kids and program under the direction of Nate Wotruba. Thank you Nate for a job well done! The amount of time, effort and direction you gave us was second to none.

As we move forward, I believe the connection I can bring between what we do and expect at the high school and the youth program, will really benefit everyone. Having been a head varsity coach for more than 20 years, I have always been a big proponent of building a program through developing our young athletes. We have a great program now and I believe with this  K-12 philosophy, we can make it even stronger in the future.

The Pulaski baseball program has been blessed with fantastic kids and families. Together we can reach new heights of greatness. I encourage you as a parent to get involved. We need your help volunteering, coaching, and becoming a member of the Pulaski Baseball Organization.

Please feel free to reach out to me at any time,

Coach Bogacz

Pulaski World Series of Hitting

Come join the Pulaski High School Coaching Staff and Players to develop the skills to be a great hitter!

Our staff will work closely with each individual player on the mental and physical approach to becoming the next Bryce Harper, Aaron Judge, Jose Altuve, or Christian Yelich! All boys will go through the same drills our varsity baseball players use to become a more successful hitter. Beside the great station work, each player will be given video analysis along with exit speed data using a radar gun. Please bring your own bat and helmet.

Tuesday Night Sessions (4) run from 3 different time slots: 5:45-6:30pm, 6:30-7:15pm & 7:15-8:00pm at the Pulaski Middle School Auxiliary Gym. (Please select 1. Please arrive to be there 5-10 minutes before start time)

Dates:  February 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th

Cost is $25 per athlete. Registration is done through PACE.

Each session is open to 3rd grade through 8th grade. To ensure a great experience with trained coaches, we will have a tight cap of 20 per session. So it is first come, first serve at each time slot. The beauty of our system of hitting is that all hitters age 5-18 will be using the same drills and progressions in developing a great rotational swing.
